Flowers for February

It's my first post for the month. What comes to mind in February are red flowers. I did not get any flowers yet this month so I bought them for myself, as I do most of the time :). I love them, I get them. I am not fancy, either. Almost any flower would do. They brighten a room and my day. Even little Josiah perks up when he looks at them.

My co-worker gave me an of-season scent candle--peppermint. I actually use peppermint scented oil whether it is the Christmas season or not. I love the sweet mint smell of it.

I bought little Josiah a special pacifier to put fresh fruits in. He loves it. What a great invention. Here he is sucking a strawberry.

Don't you want to put a kid on a penny a ride horsie in the grocery store?

Little Josiah did not care so much about the Superbowl last weekend. I sure enjoyed watching him though.

Here, Josiah entertained himself with an inflatable ball. He did not care so much about the other boy's 3rd birthday celebration and gifts. He did enjoy the birthday cake though.

I read an old book The Power of Habit. I did not like it before but rereading its summary from the StoryShots app caught my interest. I might apply its suggestions for building good habits and make it automatic kinda like brushing our teeth.

I just had a Zoom video meeting (a free app) for short meetings. It is convenient to meet this way with my nursing volunteer nursing group. The road is not so bad but it is still icy in some areas (like my cul-de-sac).

That is my week on a ramble. I am thankful for another smooth week.

Ten Things of Thankful

Comments

  1. I read something once about habits in that they take a comparatively short amount of time to establish, like 21 days or so.
    Have a good week.

  2. What a clever product! A pacifier that you can put fresh fruit inside.
I had no idea that there were still penny rides for kids! Then again, I haven't priced any lately, but just assumed nothing costs only a penny anymore.
A lot of peppermint is grown in our state, and I love driving by a field of it and taking in the wonderful aroma.
Is StoryShots kind of the modern day Cliff notes? HaHa

    1. Yes, indeed. Modern-day Cliff notes, I like that.

  3. Nice that you could stay home when the roads were icy. We had snow days in our area this past week, too.
    The flowers are pretty!

Oh What a Beautiful Morning, Oh What a Beautiful Week

Hello. It is a busy happy week. I have many things to be thankful for. Here are some: Free audiobook to listen to from Denver Public Library. This week I have The Grateful Life on my virtual shelf, accessible anywhere with my phone.A smile from seeing a book for kids, however odd. It is a book about butts. Speaking of butts, I fixed baby Josiah's constipation. He was screaming in pain as he could not pass the darn, you know? His mom was crying too as she handed him to me. My daughter (auntie), said, "Thank goodness, he has a nurse grandma!" The after picture of Josiah, already smiling after "the incident."Baby prune juice and food to prevent future constipation.Church service online for the times I do not go. Today I virtually attended Alamo Church Community Church service in Texas.Date night with Paul trying a different restaurant. I had shrimp tacos with Baja sauce. Yum.This is a big one. 2020 Begins with Gratitude

What am I thankful for, this beginning of 2020?

The little people around me. Look at my grandson about to throw his Happy New Year headband. I only have a second to snap this picture.
Talk Therapy The last couple of weeks of 2019 was rough. I scheduled to talk to the therapist and it is finally here. Have you ever want to just spill your guts out but do not want to affect your loved ones in the process? The therapist has the perfect ears for that.
Podcasts I have my favorites and here are some by Suze Orman, Dave Ramsey, Dr. Michael Greger, and more. I shared this with a friend today who has some money issues. I especially recommend Dave Ramsey. Sometimes  Many times I need some scolding so I listen to his podcasts a lot.
My Phone Camera It is really handy to take pictures of my grandson. Look at him eat as he sat on the used high chair I bought for cheap at Facebook Marketplace, and as they play with the used toys I bought or got for free from the same platform. The Marketplace is my ne…
